Geeks Allowed is a combined multi swingdance workshop, multi swingdance competition and big birthdaycelebration. Many of us already know the 26. of May is the birthday of legendary Frankie Manning (known as the ambassador of lindy hop and one of the creators of swing like we know it), but it also happens to be the birthday of this guy:

Hi everyone!

Hope as many as possible will have the chance to come and celebrate my 30th birthday the 26. of May. This year I decided to make a workshop to celebrate with style. In the beginning I tought I would keep it secret outside my inner circle that this is my B-day, but it looks like most of you have already figured it out :) So hope to see you guys, for both party, competition and courses!

Overview of the planned weekend:

  • 3 swing dance parties
  • 10 hours of swing dance lessons
  • National and international instructors
  • International Rock'n'Roll DJ
  • International Jazz Band
  • Competition with money prices
  • Big birthday celebration, with Frankie shim sham and free cakes!
  • 2 levels of Lindy Hop classes
  • 2 levels of Boogie Woogie classes
  • 1 day with Balboa classes
  • 1 day with West Coast Swing classes
  • 1 day with Boogie Woogie competition and show classes
  • Lindy Hop beginner classes Friday to Saturday

10.05.12 Only 27 party passes left (admission to parties only) så be quick to not loose the great Ny York houseparties :)

01.05.12 All locations are decided, se Travel and Stay page for directions. It will be classes at Domus Athletica and parties and some lessons at Ny York

24.04.12 The competition will be moved to Saturday, and probably there will be made some changes of the structure of the competition

24.04.12 Welcome to Ny York!! The friday party will be held in the last remaining house from the old Oslo city part Ny York. Ny York is the Norwegian version for New York, read more about the history HERE It will be one floor with Lindy Hop and one floor with Boogie Woogie

18.04.12 Earlybird prises continues to thursday the 10. of May!!

18.04.12 Lindy Hop Intermediate, Lindy Hop Advanced and Balboa are closed for followers until more boys sign up, Guys - you know what to do!! Anyway, you're still able to sign up as couple on this levels :)
